Carolyn has worked in chambers for over 30 years, starting as the first graduate clerk at 1 Brick Court (now Brick Court Chambers) and then moving to 4 Pump Court as their Senior Clerk and later as their Chief Executive. She enjoys the challenge of working with barristers at all levels to help them manage and develop their practices.
As a former disputes solicitor herself, Carolyn understands the priorities of those instructing barristers and appreciates that the quality of service offered by both the individual barristers and practice managers is crucial to the relationship. She knows that clients have to work to budgets and thus the importance of transparency and clarity in relation to fees.
Carolyn is a Cambridge Law graduate and was awarded the Chambers & Partners Life Time Achievement Award in 2017. She sits on several Bar Council committees and is a trustee of several charities.
