29 May 2009

Salary to £80,000 depending on experience.

The Roles

Hardwicke Building has recently announced the appointment of Amanda Illing as Practice Director. She moves to Hardwicke from Matrix Chambers and will join chambers in July 2009.

To coincide with the appointment of the new Practice Director, Hardwicke is reorganising its current structure of 11 different practice teams into four client focused Practice Groups. The Practice Groups will incorporate all Hardwicke’s existing specialist teams, and will be Commercial; Public Law; Insurance; and Property and Private Client. We are now recruiting Senior Practice Managers to lead each of these groups.  Each Senior Practice Manager will be supported by other practice management staff.

Reporting to the new Practice Director, the Senior Practice Managers will be responsible for one of the four client facing Practice Groups.  Senior Practice Managers are responsible for managing and building the careers of individual members of chambers and contributing to the strategic goals set by the CMC. Senior Practice Managers will play a key role in business development in support of these strategies.

We are seeking candidates with a track record of successful business development and a good understanding of one or more of these areas of the legal market.  The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and develop all aspects of the practices of a group of barristers.  We are looking for ambitious individuals who thrive in a client-focused, commercial and innovative environment and who will work effectively as part of a cohesive practice management team.

Our Chambers

Located in Lincoln’s Inn, chambers now has 83 barristers and 26 members of staff.  Many of our barristers are recognised within the leading Legal Directories.
