Hardwicke is delighted to welcome 3 new members.

John Clargo (1994 call) strengthens Hardwicke’s well regarded property and professional negligence teams, being a very experienced senior junior who specialises in property litigation and property related professional negligence.  His practice relates to both commercial and residential landlord and tenant work, covering construction, assignment, termination and renewal of leases, enfranchisement and the enforcement of covenants. He has frequently dealt with housing cases (including homelessness) as well as cases involving non-tenant occupiers of land (licensees and squatters).  He also deals with easements, restrictive covenants, conveyancing and registration issues, boundaries, adverse possession, mortgages (including LPA receiverships – acting for both banks and receivers), trusts (including cohabitant TOLATA cases), options and overage agreements.  Among the more unusual matters John has advised on are riparian rights, river bed licences and insurance claims under the Riot Damages Act 1886.

Emma Hynes (2013 call) and Katrina Mather (2014 call) also join Hardwicke having successfully concluded pupillage.   Both work across Hardwicke’s four main areas of practice (commercial, construction, insurance and property) with Emma favouring commercial and professional negligence work; Katrina property related matters.

Chief Executive, Amanda Illing, commented “We are delighted to welcome John, Emma and Katrina.  Hardwicke continues to build strength and depth in our core areas of specialism as part of our business plan, which enables us to enhance the service we can give to our clients.  We look forward to working with John, Emma and Katrina, in building and developing their careers, and welcoming their clients."
