Hardwicke is delighted to announce the launch of Direct access to barristers: a survey of market views and needs. Updating research from earlier reports in 2006 and 2008, this new study indicates a growing understanding of direct access.

As Hardwicke’s Chief Executive Ann Buxton says “Direct access is still in its infancy but, since we commissioned our last research in 2008, there has been a significant step-change in the approach of corporate counsel to the Bar. The stresses of the economic climate and the rise of the procurement officer have created a new set of pressures for those in legal services. We want to work with solicitors to provide a cost effective and seamless service to clients.”

The survey was commissioned by Hardwicke and undertaken by the legal research company Jures.
