A leading set specialising in commercial, construction, insurance and property law
09 Jul 2020, 16:00 - 16:30
Our next Insolvency #HardwickeBrew will take place at 4pm on Thursday, 9 July.
In this session we will be exploring the practical application of the CIGA 2020 to winding up petitions. How does the court determine whether the grounds of the petition arise from the financial effects of coronavirus on a company? In what circumstances will a winding up order made between 27 April and 28 June 2020 be void by reason of para 7 Sch 10? Simon Kerry, Katrina Mather and Sarah Clarke will discuss the principles which have emerged from reported decisions and share their own experiences of the court’s approach in practice. Jonathan Titmuss will chair the session.
So armed with whatever drink you need to get you through these lockdown days, join us to discuss the issues arising from winding up petitions and the financial effects from COVID-19.
#HardwickeBrews are online, informal Zoom chats aimed at keeping everyone up to date and giving us all a forum in which to exchange opinions and experiences.
Please feel free to get in touch with Aileen McErlean, who is moderating, if you would like to pose any questions or make any comments on these issues in advance of the brew. You will of course also be able to ask questions and make comments during the #HardwickeBrew itself.
As always, wandering children and pets welcome!
