#HardwickeBrew – Break the log jam with online ADR – Online arbitration part I: the practicalities of putting on and running an online arbitration

03 Jun 2020, 11:00 - 11:30

We are discussing in our #HardwickeBrew ADR series the importance of parties considering whether it is possible to resolve their differences through ADR given that some courts are closed and there are inevitable backlogs.  The first two #HardwickeBrews looked at mediation and we now turn to online arbitration.  In these extraordinary times, parties are now increasingly investigating this option, often in areas not traditionally associated with arbitration.

Catherine Piercy and Kim Kortlepel, who have just been involved in one of the first online arbitrations, discuss the practical aspects of preparing for and running an online arbitration.  They will be discussing, amongst other things, the technology and infrastructure, the preparation required for a successful online arbitration and top tips and pit falls during the actual online hearing.  The session will be moderated by Brie Stevens-Hoare QC (barrister, judge and mediator).  You can send in questions in advance (please send these to sally.wollaston@hardwicke.co.uk) or raise them on the day.

So bring along your coffee/tea and join them.  Wandering children and pets welcome!

If you would like to take part, please indicate this by e-mailing: events@hardwicke.co.uk.

We look forward to catching up at a safe social distance!
