James Hall, Ebony Alleyne and Laurence Page will consider issues that lawyers and claims handlers commonly encounter in claims against financial advisors. This practice focused seminar will be based around a fictional case study of a typical claim arising from allegedly negligent advice.

It will analyse issues from both a claimant and defendant perspective. Issues covered will include:

  1. Differentiating between advisory and ‘execution-only’ transactions;
  2. The scope of duty owed by advisors to their clients, and the extent of damages which may be recoverable; and
  3. Limitation issues that commonly arise in this area.
