Following success in the Court of Appeal in Howard v Stanton in November 2011, Dean Underwood today secured the dismissal of Ms Stanton’s original appeal in the county court.
He also secured a "pro bono costs order" under section 194 of the Legal Services Act 2007, requiring Ms Stanton to pay £2325 to the Access to Justice Foundation. The order brings to a close protracted litigation that first began in 2009, in which Mrs Howard has, recently, had the benefit of free representation from both Dean and Daniel Skinner of Batchelors solicitors.
